Lawrence Bazuaye
Built through experience, my career has been defined by transformation. I began as an industrial engineer and precision toolmaker, spending eight years building tools, machining dies, and operating CNC equipment for government and manufacturing projects that demanded precision and consistency. While engineering sharpened my mind, it also made me realize that my true passion was helping people improve their lives through movement, performance, and health. At one point, I weighed well over 250 pounds and understood firsthand how demanding careers can negatively impact physical health. Instead of accepting that as my future, I committed myself to studying kinesiology, athletic performance, and long-term wellness with my mentors. That decision changed my life. Today, in my late thirties, I am lighter, stronger, faster, healthier, and more athletic than I was in my twenties. My blood pressure problems are healed, my stamina has increased, and my vertical jump and overall athletic performance continue to improve with age. Sports have always been a major part of my life, beginning with Little League baseball before progressing into competitive basketball and football. I had the opportunity to compete with teammates who later played in the NBA and NFL. Throughout my athletic journey, I was blessed to be coached by remarkable mentors, including legendary Harlem Globetrotters and D1 professional football, basketball, & track coaches. Those experiences taught me that success is built on discipline, preparation, and continuous improvement. Today, I bring that same philosophy to every athlete, client, and individual I coach. My engineering background gives me a unique ability to analyze movement, solve performance challenges, and build customized training systems that produce measurable results. My goal is simple: to help every client become healthier, stronger, more confident, and capable of performing at a level they never believed possible!
JaVon McGee
JaVon McGee serves as a Sports Performance and Life Skills Coach at Trilogy Sports & Fitness, where he has come full circle—from training as a Trilogy athlete to now mentoring the next generation. His basketball career took him from Grandview High School to Pittsburg State University, where he became one of the program’s most accomplished players, before continuing professionally in Spain, Germany, and Switzerland. Having experienced every level of the game, JaVon understands both the opportunities and the challenges that young athletes and their families face along the journey. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Coaching from Pittsburg State University and an MBA in Management & Leadership from Western Governors University. Today, his greatest passion is giving back by helping athletes grow not only in performance, but also in confidence, leadership, and character. As a husband and father of four, he values building relationships with families and creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and encouraged. Outside of coaching, JaVon enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, mentoring others, and continuing to learn and grow. His goal is for every athlete to leave Trilogy better prepared for competition—and for life—than when they first walked through the doors.
Dwayne Smith
With 8 years of elite training experience at Trilogy, I bridge the gap between raw talent and peak performance. My background spans the full athletic spectrum, including pro, college, and high school athletes across sports like football, wrestling, boxing, soccer, basketball and track. I don't just train bodies; I build minds. My sessions are defined by a focus on the "Dog Mentality"—the internal drive to outwork the competition every single day. Through a combination of sport-specific strength and agility work, I emphasize the small details that others overlook. I take pride in pushing my athletes beyond their breaking points to reveal the elite competitors they were meant to be.
